Interesting intersection of conversations and questions, the topic “Was Napoleon Bonaparte a member of a Masonic order?” So much hot air, smoke, and bile has been vented in regard to this question. He was undoubtedly a man whose mindset and worldview were consistent with that of the Masonic brotherhood. From public records there is only one reference in the very early 1800’s to a “Brother Bonaparte”. If one knows who to ask, there is evidence in private hands that would answer the question in the affirmative, but until such evidence is made public the matter is open to debate. Had he been a huge success the Freemasons would have publicly named him as one of there own, but because his record is ….. erm ….. mixed, no one seems terribly inclined to claim or prove that he was a Mason.
