Mining in Antarctica supposedly does not take place due to a treaty, but since when have treaties been respected to the letter? And what is really going on down there? And all the alleged technical difficulties – with or without ice sheet melting – pale into insignificance compared to asteroid mining, which is being touted as a concrete possibility. Unless of course there is something or someone there…
