… and just a thought on “fake news”. I am unable to understand all of this talk of serious concern over “fake news”. In a culture where it is agreed and accepted (you have probably forgotten but I’m quite sure you were consulted on this) that relativism is the norm isn’t “fake news” just a way to describe “news” that is true to someone else but not to me? What happened to the ideal of toleration and letting everyone have their own truth(s) ?

“Fake News” shouldn’t be condemned and ridiculed it should be praised and celebrated. No longer do we need to be concerned with questions about the number of angels able to stand on the head of a needle’s point (or was that a needless point?) , or about whether the NYTimes is a better news source than _____________ (insert the name of your favorite tabloid here) Oops apologies for the apparently intentional derogatory use of the word tabloid. I intended no disrespect.

After all if I didn’t intend any disrespect and I notify you of my lack of intent (removing any possibility of your being able to find any evidence of specific intent) to be disrespectful [the Doctrine of Privileged Access being true and after all who is closer to myself than me and surely I do not deceive myself] I can not be held accountable for any apparent perceived disrespect. For today we live in the Culture that Relativism has made. Let us be glad and wallow in it. (with apologies to the writer of Psalm 118)
