A few words on the Italian crisis. A number of options are on the table. President Mattarella may press for elections rather than – as some have suggested – appoint an EU henchman as PM. This is because: this type of “techical” government would be highly unstable since the 5-star movement, though the largest party, is a hodge-podge of views and positions; the longer elections are delayed, and with a German-controlled government resuming the unpopular Soros-driven illegal immigration, the more support Salvini would gain; the Italian president (who in Italy’s parliamentary system comes into play mainly in a government crisis, otherwise he is a figurehead) also has the unspoken function of being “guarantor” for the US, and Trump is currently very critical of the German-led EU.
