Lots of Trump admin punters are laying low and trying to survive the final months of the Trump admin so they don’t go down with the ship. Assuming, of course, that Trump does not prevail. When you are a career politician/bureaucrat, you must always be prepared to protect your name as a good soldier so future employment and usefulness remains regardless of the party presently in power.

Barr, an original Bush deep stater, has no interest in self immolating. If Trump loses, Barr didn’t turn against Biden and in fact supported Biden by turning a blind eye. If Trump wins and fires Barr, he just needs to find work at some corporation or think tank until the next Republican opportunity comes around.
