    Good morning everyone Giza tribe,

Here’s a blast from the past, a film that’s one of my favorites; one that I go back to time and time again, when I’m down in the dumps. If i had a top 100, “Breaking Away” (1979) would be on my top 10. It’s a truly fantastic coming of age story, a drama-comedy with characters that you will instantly love. Although it was first released in the US on July 13, 1979, a little after my 7th birthday, it remains memorable with organic story telling that is timeless. One plus from the film; as it has many, is it’s music. Peter Yates who directed the film hired Patrick Williams to adapt classical music pieces as well as compose a unique score, that blends in seamlessly. For you classic music buffs, William’s score is a compilation of classics by Gioacchino Rossini, Felix Mendelssohn and Friedrich von Flowtow. I can’t say enough about this film, the acting is memorable, the plot line familiar, the music exquisite, a beautiful story about friendship, family, life, growing up and growing into yourself.
