Classic divide and conquer, the environmental/green folks were pitted against the forest industry, yet there’s so much more involved. I think the public just got sick and tired of the whole thing and moved on. Convenient.

It is the same as a University taking over a town. They plan on expansion through the residential neighborhoods and figure they will eventually wear them all down, or simply just be there longer than the homeowners and expand where they want. I haven’t seen or heard of the concept of sortition since jr high back in the late 70’s. If I remember right, it was frowned upon as it could be highjacked/usurped by a special interest group or demographic. Here’s a refresher of sorts. I don’t know how accurate this is…
