sometimes I like to ponder a single word, or in this case 2 words.
today is superfluidity and superfluity
“Superfluidity is the characteristic property of a fluid with zero viscosity which therefore flows without any loss of kinetic energy. When stirred, a superfluid forms vortices that continue to rotate indefinitely.”
If there is a superfluity of something, there is more of it than is needed. According to Oxford Dictionaries, a group of nuns is known as a superfluity. this got my attention. too many nuns?
other collective nouns for nuns:
If they are in a building, then it is either a convent or a nunnery.
If they are out in the wild, it is a habit.
If they are out in the wild doing evil deeds, it is a bad habit.
If you are talking about a group that is really protective of each other, then it is a sisterhood.
If you are talking about a group that is kind of mean and will tell you what to do, it is an order.
If you are telling to someone to go find them, it is a “gettheetoa” (I think Shakespeare was the first person to realize this).
