There is the likelihood that this ‘leak’ will transfer into the groundwater system. I would be very hesitant to use the water from my hose here. Good thing is, in Florida, the well water is highly sulfuric and therefore generally used just for irrigation. However, agricultural plants may absorb the toxins should they be watered by any affected source.
It is also common in the oil industry, the release of NORMs. Naturally Occurring
Radioactive Material. One of a number of things usually being monitored in such operations. The concentration is usually miniscule, measured in PPM. Parts Per Million. Hope this helps.
