I am confident that the pilot saw that the jet started losing power so thrust the nose up to try to get enough altitude to eject but also had to try to guide the plane away from houses. It simply lost all power and headed straight down but unfortunately twisted enough to make the ejecting difficult and still not high enough for the chute to open. It looked like only one person was able to eject: it was the pilot. The female navigator/copilot was lost in the crash.
