So when I read this about the latest Taliban success – https://www.rt.com/news/398752-taliban-afghanistan-seized-sayad/ – I thought:
I wonder what the symbolic (perhaps esoteric) meaning of this whole failure to conquer the Afghan-world-island-heartland thing could be?
The answer that arrived was:
It’s something to do with wanting to claim the heart(land) by force and the heart(land) itself resists such attempts. Perhaps it can’t be attacked or conquered, only approached in love/peace/serenity (I.e. without greed)? A principle for more than just the heart(land) I would say.

The term “Taliban militants” is a little vague here. Could be a “tribal” matter? Anyway the “Taliban” movement was largely initiated by the US through Saudi puppets (who have their own religious axe to grind). The Russians could say a lot more about this than they have.
