I wonder if longer-living groups tend to “inflict” on others what has been done to them…. a sort of multi generational “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander”. Is there some kind of psychic burden that is inflicted by the traumatisation of a group that they “need” to pass on (consciously or unconsciously) in the belief (incorrect in my view) that this ameliorates the burden?
