This is the “Ottoman Model”; under the sultans, “authorised” religious groupings had their own regulations and institutions… don’t see Queen Elizabeth in the role of sultan however.
I don’t really see Queen Elizabeth nor the anyone else in the Royal Family standing up for British culture, religion. If they are then their moves are so glacial so as not to be seen.
