Rehypothecation tidbit. The Italian bank Carige has come under special administration, also, apparently, for having rehypothecated their Italian treasuries several times over to at least formally meet solvency standards (how shocking, I’m sure DeutscheBank would never do this!!!). Now that the term rehypothecation is again being discussed, let’s see if some of the more awake commentators start seeing if this problem might apply to GOLD RESERVES in Italy and elsewhere.
