    I’ve been watching 1950s movies on YT – people actually spoke “properly” even when using slang.

      I also enjoyed school in the US in the 1950’s. We were all courteous and certainly respectful in class. We dressed pretty nice and when we got home, we changed to our ‘play clothes,’ went outside with a pretty simple rule; be home by dinner time (for me, 5:30.)
