Bizarre gold news from the Middle East. The article doesn’t say very much. What’s up with these “gold stashes”? Now the gold may come from various trafficking operations: but 50 TONS??? Could it be some Iraqi state reserves? If US-sponsored ISIS “plundered” or received the alleged gold, is this end-of-contract payback? And is the Army operating some sort of reserve bank? I pass the floor to @joseph

Do we yet know what happened to Libya’s stolen gold? Maybe it’s been deposited in the US fortified embassy in Baghdad . . . re article photo, is gold disguised as boxes of MREs?
Kahlypso sent me a whole list of articles on what happened. Very complex, but it does seem an excessive-zealous attempt to pin Clintons into the story more than necessary . I’m still assessing the data, not sure.. but they claim it’s in Belgium (EU) hands, diverting interest into their own banks instead of proper Libyan official Fund account created in 2000s.
Of course this is an area where we will probably never get 100% documented proof; there are a lot of parties “in the know” who for various reasons – whether complicity, blackmail or to havr “bargaining chips” – do not disclose much of anything.
