Bingo! I was wondering the other day that with so many children there might be living descendents, but last certain descendants were Augusta Wilhelmine Bach (1800-71) and Juliane Frederica Bach (b.1800). Well, the musical children live on!

The Bach CLAN certainly lives on I believe, and many relatives of Sebastian Bach, but his own family line died out with those two grand-daughters.

Carl Phillip had a son whom he named Johann Sebastian after his father if I remember correctly. He, as I recall, went to Italy to study painting and art, became ill, and died at a very young age.

In the good/bad old days, it was normal for maybe 1/2 of children to die within a few years of birth. Nothing unusual, until Western medicine and hygiene kicked in.

Finished reading a short story I picked up called “The Alchemist” it’s about a young Shepard boy who wants to travel, see they pyramids and learn alchemy. There is a nifty part about “the Philosphers Stone” in here also.
