What could be more dangerous than “Symbolic Warfare”? Isn’t it the case that “Symbols” have already been weaponized and that instead of being used for truthful communication they are instead being turned on and against humanity or as Walker Percy calls us “symbol mongerers”. If anyone has the time and inclination a nice read on this is Linda…[Read more]

I know you are not one Dana … but when a story like this breaks, as they seem to be with increasing frequency, it is interesting to see how many “Captain Renaults” there are in the world. I never tire of the interesting questions Casablanca is capable of raising when watched (and thought of) in relation to events such as this data mining…[Read more]

It’s Zelenka… hence, wonderfully mad!
-
I heard this piece years and years ago, and it’s so wildly Bohemian in every wonderful way.
-
I sometimes think that a lot of the “Sturm und Drang” in early CPE comes from the Czech baroque composers and especially Zelenka. So many affektif gestures are so similar.
-
…and unfortunately, getting thee to a church these days, you’d be subjected to bongo drums, electric guitars through 50000 watts of distortion, and belly dancers with ugly tatoos.

This is a goodie from Manly P. Hall:
-
I have quite a few of Manly P Hall’ interviews on my Ipod. I downloaded them from his You Tube presentations. However there is one on Mesopotamia/Babylon where he “absolutely struggles” with this topic, one wonders why ???
-
I met Mr Hall in his later years and, as is often the case in these circumstances, wish I had asked him the questions then that come to mind now…

Dear Joseph, hope, you’re fine. Since the two blogs about the octopusses I can not have one of my favourite meals “Spaghetti Marinara” without remembering my shocking experience in the cinema in the beginning 80ties watching Alien 1.. I love to chew on them, but now it has changed and, I guess, will be eternally be linked to my head cinema…[Read more]

So we can see perhaps who is pulling the strings by observing who controls the calendar… the control of time = control of reality?

“The cult of data encourages to fixate on the epiphenomenal images dancing in front of us rather than on our active participation in society and in the systems that generate the parameters for this data. This is the “Ottoman Model”; under the sultans, “authorised” religious groupings had their own regulations and institutions… don’t see Queen Elizabeth in the role of sultan however.
I don’t really see Queen Elizabeth nor the anyone else in the Royal Family standing up for British culture, religion. If they are then their moves are so glacial so as not to be seen.
