As a child in the 1950’s, Bernstein came to orchestras across the country and gave lectures for schools to explain music theory and orchestral instruments. I was lucky enough to see him in Cincinnati, probably about 1958 or 9: 3rd or 4th grade. I won’t ever forget the experience.
