“The future will be about finding a way to reduce the population. We start with the old, because as soon as they exceed 60-65 years, people live longer than they produce and that costs society dearly. Then the weak, then the useless that do not help society because there will always be more of them, and above all, ultimately, the stupid. Euthanasia targeting these groups; Euthanasia will have to be an essential tool in our future societies, in all cases. Of course we will not be able to execute people or build camps. We get rid of them by making them believe that it is for their own good. Overpopulation is mostly useless, it is something that is too costly economically. Socially, too, it is much better when the human machine comes to an abrupt standstill than when it gradually deteriorates. Neither will we be able to test millions upon millions of people for their intelligence, you bet that! We will find or cause something like a pandemic targeting certain people, a real economic crisis or not, a virus affecting the old or the fat, it doesn’t matter, the weak will succumb to it, the fearful and stupid will believe in it and seek treatment. We will have made sure that treatment is in place, treatment that will be the solution. The selection of idiots then takes care of itself: You go to the slaughter by yourself.” — The Future of Life – (Jacques Attali,1981)

Jacques Attali is a French economic and social theorist, writer, political adviser and senior civil servant, who served as a counselor to President François Mitterrand from 1981 to 1991 and was the first head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in 1991-1993.

And a none-too-popular figure among many of his French compatriots…

This nonsense about the elderly being “useless” is really annoying. As an octogenarian I am just now finding my stride, active in the arts (musician, artist, painter, graphics, yada yada), with time to pursue other interests such as physics, mathematics, esoterica, etc. – with good health and awareness of when to rest, meditate, appreciate the benefits of nature, with expanding curiosity to expand interests in the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, Sri Yuktesar, as well many others in this apparently unending journey. I certainly am not alone in this regard. Countless others far exceed me.in similar endeavors. I say this not to toot my own horn, but to – at least once – declare NONSENSE to those who wish to dismiss “old” fellow creatures and the wisdom they/we have to offer. To those, your efforts are feeble, as I am confident that most readers of this site would agree. In any event I have said my piece. Pax Vobiscum.

Jacques Attali is probably getting close to octogenarian status by now. I doubt we’ll see him volunteering to step off the edge of the world since he’s become “useless.” You see, it’s only we Great Unwashed and Deplorables who can be useless; the same rules don’t apply to the self-appointed technocratic elite.

Right. Whenever I hear BG speak re: the benefits of depopulation, I always think “You first.”

They’re never much for their own Medicine…we’ll have to force them…

Along those same lines, browsing the news online a few minutes ago, came across a story with videos of uniformed L. A. Police officers forcibly vaccinating unwilling, resisting “mentally disabled” & some homeless folks. Appalling. Would like to see them try this in Beverly Hills. Oops, I forgot, no mental cases there.
