As a long time member of the military, this little correspondence kinda threw me for a loop! Then again, in a year of anomalies surrounding the election (sic) of our President, it might just be part of the scenery.
Of course, it may be the Joint Chiefs, and a growing number of senior military leaders, seeing just how precarious a position they are in! War is hell….

    • “Restating the obvious” seems to be the military MO, although granted not usually from such a high position as the Chairman of the JCS. I have heard multiple stories from my military buddies about guys going out and getting DUIs on the night of their the weekly briefing about not drinking and driving. Although maybe that’s just because my buddies were all Semper Fi.

        • I would argue this is vastly different. Not only because of the level of the leaders involved, but the topic; politics. How many times were we briefed not to attend rallies in uniform, especially one support a political candidate? Now, the Joint Chiefs publish a letter supporting an elected (sic) President? Seems a bit more than restating the obvious. Seems like a reminder, or a warning.

            • I would suggest you listen to this investigative journalist regarding the memo and what this might mean, ultimately. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJurFxJR4IE

                • I know Bards. He was a JSOC Intel guy when I was in. Good dude, and good take on things.

                    • Okay, but why do I get the feeling this is just an extension of the same ol’ song since March 202; Stay home, don’t congregate, death awaits you. The one thing the rally in D.C> showed on the 6th showed me, and many others, is just how far these elected (sic) pigs will go to consolidate and maintain authority. The best way to show people that our government is run by tyrants, is to allow them to ACT like tyrants! If we get in their faces, they will lose it. If they lose it, they have no authority and lose the moral high ground they have so poorly erected.
I am reminded, with this lack -of-action plan of a few years back when we had to euthanize my wife’s dog of 14 years. She said goodbye and left the room and I stroked his coats while the vet put him down. I watched him slip away, and could do nothing. Is this our answer to the theft of everything we hold dear?
