So this solves 2 problems at once — the need for more drinking water to provide for a greater population, and to delete CO2 from the atmosphere/oceans to prevent “climate change”/”global warming”. If it is economical, it will be bought off and deep-sixed, never to be commercialized, because the Deep State can’t use it to get fantastically rich, via carbon taxes!!!

I agree families don’t need to have as many kids as in the past. At the same time, I don’t buy the overpopulation hysteria any more than the climate-change hysteria. Malthusian types (Baal G being the most recent incarnation) have been predicting doom from overpopulation for literally centuries now.
In line with what you’re saying, the population issue varies wildly by location. Many countries, including European ones, have been in demographic decline. The projections for Sub-Saharan Africa show a population explosion. (What could go wrong there?)
IMO Western Europe’s solution to population decline is only going to lead to breakdown of social cohesion, dissolution of European culture, bigger gaps between ultra-rich and ultra-poor, and ultimately the breakdown of democratic forms of government. In other words, the Soros & Co. playbook.
