    • Interesting article as far as the historical part. It really gets my goat, though, to hear people like this professor intimate the West’s relative freedom has been a handicap during the scamdemic and then hint at how much better China is. One wonders why he doesn’t apply for a visa to teach and live in China. E.g.:

      “Will the bumbling efforts of the open societies of the West to come to grips with the virus shattering already-wavering faith in liberal democracy, creating [sic] a space for other ideologies to evolve and metastasize?”

      “During the pandemic, China has taken the global lead in providing medical assistance to other countries as part of its ‘Health Silk Road’ initiative.”

      He and many others who have criticized Western liberties owe their position, and their ability to express themselves, to those very liberties, which they then sanctimoniously criticize.

      But again, IMO it’s worth reading the article for the historical perspective. [ End of rant 🙂 ]
