I’ve gotten the same feeling lately.

You might as well have AI writing the articles — it will probably do a better job than today’s “journalists.” It’s a pitiful state of affairs. For those interested in preserving the culture, let me put in a word for trying to preserve respect for the teaching and learning of languages and writing.

What we’re witnessing is a step beyond fascism: it’s corporations taking over the power and functions of the state.

Same old Globaloney playbook: use financial choke points to extort compliance. Just like they he uses SWIFT to try and make recalcitrant countries knuckle under, he’s going to use monopoly payment systems to silence dissident voices by cutting off their access to money. Or he’s going to try. The “alternative community” desperately needs…[Read more]

          • Yes, some form of electronic or remote payment is essential. Remember back in the day when you could “wire” funds? That was long before the internet.

              • You still can, as far as I know. The issue, I think, is that it’s a bank-to-bank transfer, and for it to be possible, the banks have to participate in one of a very few nationwide, regional, or international payment networks. Control or regulate those networks or banks, and you control the ability to send long-distance payments.

From carry-ables (cell phones), to wearables like this, to…? I can’t believe anyone would subject children to this. Though it’s probably time I stop being surprised — by anything!

I just happen to have a soft spot for Europe, its history, and many of its cultures. I hate to see it fall apart, especially on a cultural level. But you’re right that we have our hands full dealing with our own problems in the U.S.

I feel bad for Europe. What’s it going to take to get one of the Continental European countries to leave the EU? Total economic and social collapse? I hope, at least, more EU countries will start ignoring the EU treaties, directives, etc. If you look at demographic projections for Europe, the population is supposed to shrink significantly…[Read more]

That has been my suspicion, especially since England harbors the City of London. In fact, one might even speculate the City is the controller and England itself is among those being controlled. I’d never heard of the Rogue Food Conference… (maybe it’s well known to farmers and ranchers?). I was very glad to hear real-life stories of people organizing and acting locally–especially about their food supply.

By “repressive measures,” I was thinking more about civil liberties, but I know there’s been a war on cash in the English-speaking world (and other places) for a while now. Maybe this microchipping of paper money is a halfway measure till they perfect digital “currency” or a way to get people used to the idea that all their purchases will be…[Read more]

What is it about the major Commonwealth countries that has them all marching in the same direction? India was the testbed for the cashless society. And just look at the repressive measures in parts of Canada and Australia today. (To be fair, some parts of the U.S. aren’t all that far behind the march, so maybe it’s more an Anglosphere thing…[Read more]

                            • I wanted to go to the Rogue Food Conference so badly. Salatin has been a major inspiration for me and many other regenerative farmers. To combat “going direct,” we too need to go direct. Buy, sell and barter locally and pay in cash. They are waging a war on us, we need to respond with guerrilla tactics of our own.

Yes, very well said, and articulately stated. I am sorry you and so many others are dealing with this kind of insanity within their families. It’s heartbreaking. I can relate to feeling “a bit like an anthropologist… in my encounters with other species of hominid.” I’ve felt that way since early childhood, so there hasn’t been any kind of…[Read more]

What you say makes good sense, but… the type of mindset you’re describing is based on a (false) sense of righteous indignation against any and all who disagree with them. In this mindset, if you disagree with their orthodoxy, you are the enemy of society and deserve to be persecuted — if not eliminated altogether. And, for the few true…[Read more]

I get the feeling Mr. Global wants to “devalue the brand” not only in the eyes of the rest of the world, but even more so in the eyes of the U.S. population. It’s almost as if there’s a concerted effort to enrage, mock, and demoralize Americans (along with the West in general). I imagine Mr. Global thinking: “They think they’re so clever,…[Read more]
