    Hopkins does some insightful, well-written articles on Mr. Globaloney (CAF has even mentioned him). If the Powers That Wanna Be get their way, the “War on [fill in bogeyman du jour]” won’t last 10-20 years–it will last forever. That said, I’m not quite as pessimistic as he is, but I think it’s an article well worth reading.

      • Basically if your human; your a terrorist.
        [After all, AI is running the puppet governments.
        Or, AI is running the Great Re-Set.
        Or, AI running the Stock Market.

        Either your an AI with us;
        or, a human against us.

        Ai is coming to run your life;
        or, your running away from AI control.
        Terrorist run away from truth. Truth is AI.]

      I was thinking in terms of historical family connections. (I don’t follow the Italian press, so not sure what they’re reporting on.)

        You make a good point, and I’m mostly with you on that. I still think it’s rational, in a dire emergency, to grab anything at hand that might serve as a tool and give it a try. But that’s a stopgap, not a strategy. We desperately need “outside-the-box” solutions-oriented thinking right now. (I admire CAF for the herculean effort she’s put…[Read more]

        Maybe they should demand freedom of education? Might help the thought part. (Bearing in mind that education and thought both depend on the speech part.)

          The possible life-extension-tech angle (new “meat suits”) never occurred to me. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if that were one of the goals.

            De’ Medici? No banking connections there… This is the second bankster PM that’s been forced on Italy in recent times, following Signor Three-Card Monti from a while back. Not to mention the bankster foisted on Greece or the one that’s just been installed to head the U.S. Treasury. They don’t even pretend anymore.

              I’m awestruck by composers’ and conductors’ ability to keep so many lines of music, from all those different instruments, in their mind at the same time, “hearing” them all simultaneously while writing or conducting the music. What a gift!

                I continue to find the in-your-face manipulation of language these days fascinating and troubling in equal measure. It amazes me how an ersatz reality can be conjured through word choice alone. “Stormed,” “attack,” “insurrection,” “protesters,” “mostly peaceful”… just keep repeating it, like a black magic spell, till people believe it.…[Read more]

                Another reason for lab-grown “meat”?

                  • Throughout my life, I have noticed some disconnects. I remember a conversation with the owner of a computer company (Apricot, another fruity computer business) in the early 80’s. I was assembling Pc’s to custom specs. and we got to talking about the future of technology and unwittingly I made a remark about how over powered computers are and…

                      Ah, Bertrand Russell… The very model of the modern major technocrat. Understanding him and his crowd (the Huxleys, H.G. Wells, the Fabians, and assorted Malthusians and social Darwinists of every stripe) goes a long way toward explaining how we got to where we are.

                        The only surprise to me is that Walmart was still producing anything anywhere in America. When I was very young, northeastern Ohio near Lake Erie was a fairly thriving, pleasant area, with actual communities that would’ve scored very high on CAF’s “popsicle index.” An average worker could earn enough to buy a house and support a family.…[Read more]

                          The whole purpose is to keep pushing, in small increments, over and over–to see how far they can get this time around.

                            • Somebody (perhaps Thomas Jefferson) said that the price of democracy is eternal vigilance. But we’ve been too snugly and smugly comfortable in the past few years or decades to be vigilant, and tyranny is the outcome.
                              Neither Thucydides nor Tacitus would have been surprised, because they and many other historians and philosophers described…

                              • Thomas Jefferson; also is alleged to have said, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time w/the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is its natural manure”.

                              • They are definitely pushing – it would be helpful if more pushed back – either by passive non-compliance or aggressive non-compliance if that’s one’s gig.

                                  I saw Dr. Mercola mentioned recently–can’t remember where–and the gist was he’s on the mainstream’s “misinfo” or [fill in slur du jour] hit list. Sad to see.

                                    • Hey FiatLux,

                                      That’s not surprising being that he has massive following. “They” strategically attack those who have a large loyal base, thinking that they can discredit and destroy, while in the process label and list those following as medical “insurrectionists” . . .

                                        • “If it says Libbys Libbys Libbys on the label label label you’ll love it on your table table table.”’ Anyone else remember that jingo? I don’t do labels.

                                            • Hey Billy Bob,

                                              Of course . .
                                              ( https://youtu.be/DcaIMF_-1J4 ) 🙃

                                                • My my it’s still around. See that Madison Avenue mind control is real. I haven’t thought of it for ages. The jingo just popped into my memory bank when I read the word label. Edward Bernays would be so proud of his long lasting impact on the human mind. I turned 18 years old in 1971.

                                                • Hey again Billy Bob,

                                                  Admittedly I was still just a wee wish in my daddy’s loins in 1971. Was born in July of ‘72, but i shamefully admit that i partly grew up on Libby’s.wonder-meat. Isn’t it eerily funny that 49 years later we are still sending power recital prayers to the gods of Libby’s advertising and by implication ole Bernays?…

                                            Just what we need… more data modeling in epidemiology. Because it’s got such a great track record. Just look at Neil Ferguson.

                                              Some of those greaterrest.org presentations might have useful ideas in the “where do we go from here” category. Of course, you have to separate the wheat from the chaff.
