This is interesting, could the Kurils be a trial ground for a new (and hopefully peaceful) Asian Prosperity Sphere extended to Siberia? Shades of Manchuria?
unless our favorite despot in North Korea doesn’t act up again and challenge China’s attempt at opening up new trade routes and economic zones which will benefit the Chinese government. Oh wait japan is sharpening their samurai swords and preparing to charge into North Korea… or as it seems.
