Are the Russians aware off linear, vertical and diagonal warfare and preparing accordingly?

Thanks! I’ll check it out.
They have some truly spectacular churches and monasteries in Russia. My oldest daughter was babtized in a monestary which was build about 500 years ago. I really loved that place, even the newer parts of it (she was babtized in the new church of the monastery). The old church was just amazing, and it’s still in public use. There were a lot of local worshippers inside the old church, doing their thing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tikhvin_Assumption_Monastery

Oh my lord .. The symbology in this Cathedral is OUT of THIS WORLD .. literally .. Stunning .. Thanks for posting Laurent ..
Can anyone point me in the direction of explanations of some of the symbology of this cathedral? I am very clear in an intuitive sense of the purpose and reason for this but details would be most welcome to have.
TIA!
You can look into the Orthodox Church iconography. There is a lot online on this subject. Jonathan Pageau has a channel on youtube where he discusses Orth Icons but I honestly don’t know how accurate his content might be. However, I think Joseph mentioned that the iconography in the Cathedral is not purely traditional and I’d tend to agree.
My sense has been whenever I look at iconography, it brings a certain reflection on the subject and symbolism of the piece. The cathedral in itself uses the same symbolism however its arrangement is very much made or tweaked to project and exert influence. Not a place of worship but rather a place to project worship if that makes any sense.
It is peculiar and I don’t think I’ve seen anything made or built quite as focused or deliberate as this in modern buildings.
Thank you so much Laurent!
