This chant is a hymn chanted during Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts. Traditionally, in the Orthodox Church, during Lent an evening service known as Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts that includes Vespers and administration of Holy Communion. This service is typically held on Wednesdays or Fridays depending on the perish. However, there are no Eucharistic prayers during the service. Hence, the term “Presanctified”. The “Gifts” for Holy Communion in that service are taken from the leftovers of Divine Liturgy the previous Sunday.
This chant “Let My Arise” is commonly chanted during Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts. This was chanted yesterday April 2, 2020 by two highly talented chanters at st. Gregory Orthodox Cathedral in Rossford, Ohio. It is a Bulgarian Orthodox Cathedral. Here is a link to it.

    • Hi Gabe. Thanks for this post! There are several Orthodox churches in the Toledo, OH metro area where I am near to. During Great Lent the parishioners all go to each other’s churches for the Wednesday evening for these Lenten services. It is a great way for Orthodox Christians to meet each other. NOT THIS YEAR…because of COVID-19. I can’t even find words any more.

      • Too bad you all aren’t in TX. As long as people agree to “social distancing”, Governor Abbott recognizes the large Christian population here and is allowing churches to be open.
