The Yamma Ensemble is a music group that plays Oriental Hewbrew and ancient Jewish music. The group uses music traditions from Turkey, Yemen, Bukhara, and old Sefarad. They play ancient instruments that include the duduk, ney, kopuz, oud, and shofar which were used all throughout the ancient world. In this video the group plays Psalm 104 (103 in the Eastern Orthodox Bible) known in Latin as The Benedicite, Omnia Opera (in English this means, “All the works”). As you may know, this psalm is also known as the psalm in praise of the creator and it invokes all creation. This Psalm holds a paramount place in Orthodox Christian and High Anglican liturgy.
