Found a really great wiki site that features many contemporary and traditional philosophers that has bibliographies and links to many of their writings in PDF format for free. I’m not advocating piracy but at least it allows you to try before you buy the hard copy. Here’s the page on Umberto Eco.

Eco was that rare thing in the modern age, a modern man, who could be traditional, and a renaissance man.
As far as his non-fiction goes, where would be a good place to start? I’ve read some short introductions to semiotics, but they all say Eco is too advanced to start with.
It is possible to start with Eco if one has a mind with a voracious hunger to know. Consider reading the following and see how you feel about reading Eco: https://monoskop.org/images/b/b3/Eco_Umberto_Semiotics_and_the_Philosophy_of_Language_1986.pdf
