      My husband was a type 1 diabetic since age 7 and he was absolutely a fanatic about keeping his sugar regulated, testing himself at least 4-5 times per day. At age 49, Eli Lilly suddenly decided to discontinue the pork-based insulin that he had been using for 32 years with very little warning. He struggled to find something equivalent but I will say that the abandonment by Eli Lilly who had kept him alive for so long was devastating. He recognized that by this time, he represented only about 2% of the original patients and the depression it caused was terminal.

      I HATE Eli Lilly.
