      Pu Yi’s autobiography, “From Emperor To Citizen,” offers a really fascinating insight into such a different word, including his childhood in The Forbidden City of the Qing. Published under the auspices of the CCP, of course, but nonetheless a remarkable book. Bertolucci’s 1987 movie, “The Last Emperor,” based on the book, brings Pu Yi’s tragic story magnificently to life and won nine Oscars, including Best Picture.
      Pu Yi’s story is a very human one. Whatever one thinks of him, he lived one of the most remarkable lives of the twentieth century.
