Thought provoking. I’ve heard of Fyodorov, but unfortunately only a selection of his works are available in English. I’m glad they brought up Soloviev… a VERY important figure in Russian philosophy.

A little Haydn to bring in the new year. This is one of my favorite concertos of his. it doesn’t get played very often, and even when it does, the tempos tend to drag. But this older performance by Ilse von Alpenheim takes it just right, and particularly in the third movement, a fun little minuet, with plenty of Haydn’s whimsy.…[Read more]

It actually got cold here in Central Texas so I get what you went through (I see it is back on again). My house has typical C. TX insulation (practically nothing) so I keep a small army of oil-filled electric heaters that work great when it gets below freezing here for a few days. They occupy well sheds, poultry house, and everywhere in my house…[Read more]

Sesh Heri took all of his books out of sales, I doubt it’s available.

I’m afraid this is correct.

Thank you Dr Farrell and mercuriAl.
Do any Giza members have a copy of Sesh Heri’s Handprint of atlas that they would be prepared to lend me?-
Hi, Cara.
I sent a private message to you on this and it appeared initially to have been correctly sent. However, I discovered later that it was somehow received by another (probably bewildered) member with whom I’ve not had previous ‘dealings’, (Roadcats).
Basically, when Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 disappeared on March 8, 2014, and while a…[Read more]-
Hi MercuriAl,
Wow, thanks for the message and update here. One could almost say there is an intent for this book not to find new readers with your message being misdirected…hmm.
I’ll keep it my low level “radar” on for it while I’m reading Walter Bosley’s books and we’ll see if anything “pings”.
Cheers
Cara

Well, I’ll never be able to view the cover of the CD case for “The Art Of The Netherlands” with David Munrow and The Early Music Consort Of London again without recalling THIS magical moment … !
Thanks 😉 . . . and for Millennials, upgrades to the Old Masters . . .
