CPE Bach at his whimsical satirical best, poking fun at the classical style before it has even been around for very long… and a bit of deliberate “wrong notes bi-tonality” in this as well in spots. You name it, he did it, and with great elegance as sophistication, even when he was poking fun. (BTW, the video says this is the G Major Wq 16, but this is a misprint on this album. This is the Bb Major, Wq 36, I, and for once, the tangent piano is appropriate): (The third movement is a gas too…)
