    Actually no… she still doesn’t play, which is unusual for a dog, but another member here told me her dog was abused, and doesn’t play either… Sad, but true.

      We have rescued two abused dogs over the years. They like humans have trust issues and trauma. Our last one was a lab who was deathly afraid of brooms, so we knew she had to have been hit. She also had a bad hip spot from the hits.

      I did have one rescue that played with toys but I think he ran away before the abuse got too bad. He was wild when I rescued him (they caught him in a trap in Austin). He was running with what I believe was a half sister who was terribly abused (also trapped). Both were on the euthanize in hours list when I rescued them. She never considers picking up a toy and is still the one dog I have to worry about when a stranger comes in as she knows better than me who to trust… and Not.
