Hey folks. I’ve been thinking of doing something a little new in the members’ area called “Monologues.” What these would be are any topics that members would like me to talk about in greater length than we have for vidchats. They’d be an hour or so long, once a month, on topics you want me to go into greater depth on, but not full-fledged webinars with slides &c (which take an enormous amount of time to produce.). The topics would be submitted just like for vidchats, via my email, but you’d put “MONOLOGUE TOPIC” in the header. If this sounds like something you’d like to see, let me know, and submit a topic. The reason I’m suggesting this is that we’re getting more new members in the members’ area, and I’m sensing some of you would like greater depth on some topics (if I can provide it). So let me know. In effect, these “Monologues” would be a new kind of “dialogue”, but with you in the driver’s seat rather than Daniel. If this idea is appealing, it may evolve over time into one on one-on-one dialogues with a particular member on screen. Who knows? But let me know.

OK, as you might imagine, I love this idea! And despite the fact that you should also probably disqualify me from submitting any topics, I will indeed take you up on this! It’s an excellent idea and should benefit the wider membership as well.

This is a great idea. I have not asked many questions but it’s not because I don’t have them. As a long-time silent observer (sounds better than lurker) I’ve learned a lot from your books, website, dialogues, and webinars. I love the vidchats with sprinklings of purple prose; however, it’s not unusual for me to feel like I’m on a single-speed bike behind a peloton on Tour De France bikes. Every now and then I’m able to hang onto the back for a few minutes before I get dropped again. I might not have to peddle quite so hard with a monologue topic.
Based on your post here DB I have no doubt you could be leading the pack on a Tour De France bike!

Delivery, then the lecturer will address. Hence monologue becomes dialogue…Plato is back.

That’s an interesting idea. I think the Dark Journalist should make short summary videos to explain some of the topics he covers.

Great idea. I would like the supplementary subtext to Microcosm and Macrocosm – the things that you dare not write in the book. 😉
