This about the Toronto story… it’s much worse than that Greek priest made out:
I left the Greek Orthodox Church here in Northwest Ohio because I could no longer stomach the evil coming out of Constantinople. There is a video of the Patriarch informing his “little children” that we should be so grateful to God for his gracious gift of a COVID 19 vax. I think he got primed when Sam Brownback was over there last fall, and then Pigpompeo showed up after that.
This is one of the many comments under that article. I second it: When will the Orthodox Bishops in America and Canada finally speak out against this unjustified tyranny directed at Christians specifically and denounce the persecution of the Orthodox Church? WHEN?
Our courageous Protestant brethren are putting our bishops to shame. Many Christian pastors have publicly spoken out against this travesty, are challenging these unconstitutional mandates, and are fighting to defend their Christian faith and the right to freely worship Christ.
Meanwhile we hear crickets from the Orthodox hierarchy. Their silence is deafening.
Your graces, do your jobs and fulfill your sacred duties. Defend your flocks and the Holy Orthodox Church!
“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.” ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
“Not only for every idle word must man give an account, but for every idle silence.” ~ St. Ambrose
I don’t blame you. Constantinople has been co-opted for a VERY long time, at least since Meletios Metaxis. The current occupant, Bartholomeios, was educated in Rome (what does THAT tell you?) and there are persistent rumors that C-ple gets funds from the US State Dept and the Clowns In America in addition to quiet subsidies from the papacy, all of which would account for C-Ple’s neo-papal claims since Meletios. Further I dare not say, except to note that I never commemorated the occupants of C-ple after Meletios to the present.
Thank you for the comment Joseph. In my area there are two Antiochian Orthodox churches, a Bulgarian Orthodox church as well as one Serbian Orthodox church within 30 minutes of my home. I am leaning toward looking at the Serbian church. I honestly feel like all of them in the USA are simply too westernized and controlled by TPT(shouldn’t)B. Very depressing!
I hate to say this, but you’re surest bet are the Serbs… although, while I will not elaborate, in my opinion ALL of the so-called canonical jurisdictions are quite simply, NOT
Again, thank you for the input! I had to laugh because when I converted a couple of years ago and joined the Greek church the priest said that the jurisdictions weren’t really canonical!!! Unfortunately, this priest is very much engulfed by the fake news and therefore, the COVIDIOT syndrome. God help us all. It grows bleaker by the minute for those of us who won’t comply with the technocrat dystopia.
I guess there are no Mark of Ephesus’ around…except maybe Kiril III (who was consecrated? on the Feast Day of Mark of Ephesus…no message there). If it keeps going this way, Russia may be the only bastion of Orthodoxy.
Kiril, as I recall, delivered a rather blistering sermon at the reconstructed Christ the Saviour Cathedral in Moscow a few years ago precisely on the feast of St. Mark of Eph. From the looks of things, you may be right.
I wonder if this sermon is available anywhere in English!?
