This has got to hurt, China is switching Oil imports from Saudi to Russia. I do get the impression that the House of Saud must be under great pressure financially not least with stories of their US treasuries being locked up in in the exchange stabilisation fund. Found a really great wiki site that features many contemporary and traditional philosophers that has bibliographies and links to many of their writings in PDF format for free. I’m not advocating piracy but at least it allows you to try before you buy the hard copy. Here’s the page on Umberto Eco.

As far as his non-fiction goes, where would be a good place to start? I’ve read some short introductions to semiotics, but they all say Eco is too advanced to start with.

I agree that symbols can be used as portals. The Golden Dawn used individual Tarot cards during meditation as portals into the Astral. I have found when doing a reading for myself that the layers within the Tarot symbols can easily unlock my subconscious and reveal a path out of a predicament.

You’re welcome. Black’s Law dictionary (I would get the 6th Edition) is very different from the standard English dictionary. It gives the “legal” meaning(s) of words used in statutes, Old English Law, Roman Law, court proceedings, etc. It is a real eye opener.

Literally spent all day furthering and cleaning up my research. It should be ready to send out, in it’s still incomplete but more polished form, tomorrow. I’d like to thank everyone for their compliments and for providing me the motivation to get it out of my head and onto paper.
