Kelly EM has sent a reader’s contribution.. I just wanted to put a dump of links together to ‘de-mystify’ the terms etc.. its for my own understanding..
Also some ‘related’ news articles.. Have some heavy reading to do….:)“DIFFERENT ORIGINS OR DIFFERENT EVOLUTIONS? DECODING THE SPECTRAL DIVERSITY AMONG C-TYPE ASTEROIDS”
http://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3847/1538-3881/153/2/72/pdf(In order to read the article you have to pay for it… I havent found any ‘legal’ means yet to get my hands on it… 🙂 :))
Enstat ite :
http://www.webmineral.com/data/Enstati te.shtml (CAN WE PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE have the word Ti T taken OFF the bad words list.. )
“Enstat ite is a mineral; the magnesium endmember of the pyroxene silicate mineral series enstat ite (MgSiO3) –
ferrosilite (FeSiO3). The magnesium rich members of the solid solution series are
common rock-forming minerals found in igneous and metamorphic rocks.”

Hydrated compounds :
Hydrated compounds are any compounds that have chemically attached water molecules or hydrogen and oxygen atoms.
These compounds can dissociate into water and other compounds.
Hydrated compounds may be either organic, containing carbon atoms, or inorganic.
An example of an organic hydrate is ethanol, which is also known as ethyl hydrate. The chemical formula is CH3OH.
Inorganic hydrates are often salts and crystals that may change colors when the water molecules are driven off.
They may be used as water indicators.
An example is cobalt II chloride, which is red when hydrated and blue when not hydrated.
The hydrated formula is Co-Cl2.6H20.
When the water is removed, the compounds may be called anhydrous.

originated from a region of the Themis parent body that experienced aqueous alteration and subsequent
thermal metamorphism.

Silicate minerals are rock-forming minerals made up of silicate groups.
“They are the largest and most important class of rock-forming minerals and make up approximately 90 percent of
the Earth’s crust.”
