      In the late 90s, in Wojtyla’s last years, a book was published in Italy called “Via col vento in Vaticano” (Gone with the Wind in the Vatican) by anonymous insiders, the first of many things to come out about top clergy in Rome and elsewhere involved in these things. Research later showed that Ratzinger may have stifled investigation on allegations regarding abuse. Nevertheless reports say that 400 priests were defrocked under his papacy for serious violations in this respect.

          Still, the worst recent events (excluding the earlier tragedies of the Irish orphanages and the elimination of native peoples in Canada and Australia) have apparently not been in Rome but in Mexico, with the outrageous case of the “Legionaries of Christ” and its maniacal founder.

        LOL .. I LOVE that word “defrocked” .. “we hunted him .. we found him .. we cornered him and then we DEFROCKED him” .. It sounds like a hideous punishment .. akin to flailing or lynching .. But all it REALLY means is to take a mans FROCK away .. If my father had EVER walked through our house wearing a FROCK .. we would have called the frocking police and ambulance IMMEDIATELY ..
