Matters of Life and Death: What can we learn about death – Sheldrake-Vernon Dialogue 67 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4uMW_qFGjw

    • I feel “death” goes right to the meat and potatoes of the current c-problem = total inability to deal with “physical” death in current Western society (seems anywhere else too). In my 41-year career being a nurse I saw the angst for dying get bigger and bigger. Ultimately, I saw the divorce of reality of being born, of groing up to adulthood, being adult and eventually grow old and die, peter away. The special hospices set up to accompany the dying over the threshold did more harm then good in my opinion.
Those came into fashion together with the new regulating laws of euthanasia (in Belgium at least). The cocktails of medication used to ease suffering are nothing more then euthanasia in slow motion together with psychological torture. One of the main ingredients = haloperidol! Can you imagine?! There’s a reason psychiatric patiens are not fond of this atrocious medication, side affects are horrific. It is fondly used in elderly homes aswell!

      • This goes right to the meat and potatoes of the c-problem in the western world (and others too it seems). Not able to except the dying of the “physical” body. In my 41-year career of being a nurse I saw the angst for dying grow and slip into the unreality of non-existence. It went serious of rails with new euthanasia laws coming into effect. At the same time hospices to accompany others over the threshold became popular and sprang all up over the country (Belgium). Those hospices did more harm then good and in effect practice euthanasia in slow motion with a cocktail that harms psychologically as well. One of the main ingredients is haloperidol! There are reasons psychiatric patients don’t like to take it, the side effects are horrendous! It is widely used in the elderly industry as well.

          • That is bizarre because I still have your first post on the notice I received about it being posted yet it is missing here…. for me it was a comforting discussion.
