I too recently had to drop an old friend from my Facebook contacts after a similar such encounter over an anti-mask article I posted. Increasingly, I have little time for people – friend or not – who do not share at least some conceptual and cultural ideas in common with me.

Trust me. In the compost bin… but I have been in contact with another friend who has totally surprised me by being very pro police, pro Constitution and is as baffled by having to walk away from friends that we have known for 30 + years because they have apparently lost their minds. Aren’t socialism and wearing masks both signs of mind manipulation? Difficult to undo that hold on the frontal lobe…may need to add another symptom to dementia. Sad to loose old friends when they are ill and don’t understand what is going on in the world.

Sounds like you need to start weeding out some friends. I insist on the rule that people must have at least two brain cells to rub together to carry on with any further correspondence.
