I’m certainly no musical genius, but I recently dug out our old acoustic guitar, restrung it, and started jamming again. It had been ten years, or so, since I last played. I can’t really express how much joy it’s bringing to my life. So yah, dust off that piano and have a blast!

Now, I know here at Giza we tend to use pianos as kindling to keep Dr. Farrell, Shiloh, and Bruno warm at night, but I must admit, I’m truly a sucker for anything Chopin. This video also seemed to pull my sixteen year old cousin away from his iPhone for a brief moment. Hm, I wonder why:)

My grandmother graduated in music (piano) in 1903 from Oberlin College so it is an instrument that I have played my entire life. What a young master of the instrument! Looking forward to getting my piano out of storage and back into playing condition so I can start to play again… even if just the Chopin etudes and “finger exercises”.

Honestly, I feel like my/our challenges have only just started, we know it’s going to be an absolute battle to raise our daughter with a good head on her shoulders, one that cherishes these traditions and values that we, here at Giza, hold so dear to our hearts. Being a single man, and at this stage of life, I look back and wonder if I made the right decision not to marry or have children. But I look at how difficult now it must be for parents to raise virtuous and decent children when the whole system and all its institutions are so corrupted and anti-human.
