Quotation of the day: “Disagreement is not oppression. Argument is not assault. Words— even provocative or repugnant ones— are not violence. The answer to speech we do not like is more speech.” – N. Christakis (former Master of the residential college at Yale)

“Master” is now a forbidden word so it’s being cancelled.
Computer geeks created the term master/slave hard drives decades ago, but it’s now politically incorrect.
The madness is so widespread that realtors are cancelling the term “master bedroom”!

It’s a war on words–and thoughts. Heard of the Univ. of Calif. list of possible “microaggressions”? Examples dating all the way back to 2014:
– “Where are you from?” or “Where were you born?”
– “You speak English very well.”
– “There is only one race, the human race.”
– “America is a melting pot.”
– “I believe the most qualified person should get the job.”

I know a certain Ph.D. who got out of academia just in the nick of time!
A Seattle bureaucrat sent a memo to city employees warning them not to use the phrase “brown bag lunches” because it’s a racist term. It turn’s out that the brown paper bad was actually used by lighter complected African Americans to exclude darker ones from their fraternities and clubs. OK, time to criticize “Light Complected Black Supremecists”.

Thank goodness for Giza and JPF. Just saying. Hopefully this will keep us sane in this craziness. Every now and then, I think I am waking up in the middle of a novel.
Bad is good and good is bad!
Sacred if profane!
And it’s wiser to be mad…
