I believe Marine Le Pen may lose with her statements regarding the French role in the German-ordered round up and arrest of Jews in France. The official story is that the French government has accepted responsibility for carrying out the German orders. Le Pen insists that was not France but collaborators. It is an argument lost on the Left. And it provokes Israel and French Jews. Of course, the French Jews were never going to vote for the National Front, but it gives energy to the far Left. Secretly, many French agree with Le Pen, but the official story is the official story. It will be quite the horserace photo finish to be sure.
