Though I haven’t studied this tech in detail it seems to me that there is something wrong here. Even long-time meditators experience a sort of wave type rather than a linear state of consciousness. If as they say this includes “mentally voicing” commands, the concentration required to do this is likely to fall off, even if briefly and can be recovered with an effort, and so it goes, like an S-wave. So how is control applied during the dips in the wave, or when, (Lord forbid!) the pilot is so careless as to have a mental “flash” about something that is bothering him and will just not be suppressed by whatever conditioning he is subjected to? Back to old-fashioned manual controls?
The plane’s onboard A.I. is attuned (and pre-tuned) to the pilot’s signature states of mind that are operative in the course of piloting the jet and in a variety of conditions. Akin to bio-feedback but more advanced than anything publically available, the pilot via this helmet and additional technology worn directly on his body, becomes an active extension in a unified, holographic melding of mind and machine.
They have been using these headsets for quite a few years for F-22 or F-18 training…
