There are various dimensions to the problem but on one level compulsory military service in those parts also has sadly traumatic effects; there are certain mountain resort towns in the Indian State of Himachal Pradesh where “spaced out” youth retreat for a post-discharge vacation and the local authorities “close an eye”…

I think of vaccinations as gateway drugs, probably for many legal and illegal drug profit lines. I’m not sure that, and fear of disease, is all that is behind the fervor to promote them, though.
