An article reporting on quantum teleportation with 90% success rate over a 27 mile distance. A few phrases/terms caught my attention – “…as the qubits are sent to their eventual destination through optical fibres (or satellites).” – emphasize ‘or satellites’, “…tricky to beam entangled photons over long distances without interference” – my mind went to closely placed transceivers in urban areas, “…beginning to lay the foundation for the construction of a Chicago-area metropolitan quantum network” – a smart city component?
