Current events prompted me to write this post today.

Because I think it’s important to understand different perspectives regardless of my own views, I regularly read articles and watch broadcasts from a wide spectrum of ideologies. While I do find pieces with value and validity in virtually all of these viewpoints, when each view is considered in its totality and we think of those that latch on to one perspective and internalize it as their bias, it can be disheartening and alarming.

To illustrate my thinking, here are two video broadcasts by people of very different mindsets.

What concerns me is that it is not difficult to see people getting immersed in these ideological battles between themselves while the greater war (i.e. freedom vs. slavery, globalists vs. everyday people, materialists vs. spiritualist) gets lost in the emotional furor.

Though it is challenging for many of us, if not all, I feel it’s crucial, while paying attention to daily occurrences, to keep our eyes and minds on the bigger bouncing balls. Rigorously exercising our critical thinking skills and abilities to find calm in a tumultuous sea will help us navigate these times of change.
