I the last Q wrap up, Dr Farrell mentioned that Russia will try to capture some of the traffic from New Silk Road by building fast train in Siberia. In order to do it they will have to purchase technology from France, Japan or China. Here is a surprising or not so surprising for some turn. How about Old friend Germany to be exact Siemens.Sorry link is in Russian language.

“Dmitry Pumpyansky’s Sinara Group and Siemens Mobility . . . will invest approximately 10 billion rubles in production of high-speed trains . . . in Russia. This is stated in a communication from the companies received by RBC.”
“On Tuesday, October 20, Sinara, Siemens Mobility, their joint plant Ural Locomotives . . . and Russian Railways (RZD) signed a letter of intent that will contribute to the development of high-speed rail transport in Russia. Serial production of new trains is planned to be launched by 2025 at Ural Locomotives.”
